On the afternoon of April 14th, the Shanghai ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter hosted a forum on the development trends of global digital creativity, inviting experts from China, Finland, and Japan to share their insights on the future of digital art and interactive technology. The event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on topics such as innovative concepts in future game education, the integration of Finland’s game industry with education, and case studies of renowned Japanese animations.

The forum kicked off with a keynote speech by Ye Weizhong, Chairman of the Shanghai ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter, titled “Vision and Suggestions for Future Game Education.” Ye explored the close connection between the animation industry and game education in the digital age, offering forward-looking and innovative recommendations for the future development of these fields.

Heikka Valja from Finland delivered a presentation on “Finland’s Game Industry and Education: The Origins of Supercell, Rovio, and Remedy.” Heikka outlined how Finland’s game industry has rapidly evolved from a niche market to a global leader in game innovation. He also shared valuable experiences from Finland’s vocational education system, highlighting how it cultivates a culture of innovation and creativity.

Japanese animation directors and artists Morita Shuhei and Sakamoto Takasuke from YamatoWorks presented a case study on the creation of the animation “Mission: Crimson Blade.” They demonstrated the advanced techniques and innovative methods used in the production process, particularly focusing on the use of Lightwave 3D software as a key part of their animation pipeline. Their presentation showcased the depth and charm of Japanese animation, captivating the audience with their expertise.

Following the talks, enthusiastic attendees lined up to interact with the speakers, seeking autographs and taking photos as mementos of this inspiring event. Some even gifted their favorite plush toys to the speakers as tokens of appreciation.
