World Youth Skills Day: Vocational Skills Experience Camp for Shanghai College Students

In just 72 hours, the “Yangfan Lai Qing” Vocational Skills Experience Camp hosted by Shanghai Siggraph Chapter took college students on an incredible journey into the world of 3D digital games and animation. Over these three days, we delved into the mysteries of this exciting industry, igniting students’ passion and curiosity. Through engaging presentations and discussions, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in this dynamic field.

Under the guidance of professional mentors, students quickly mastered the use of Muvizu animation software, experiencing the entire process from conceptual design to animation production. Each step was filled with challenges and excitement as they brought their ideas to life through digital storytelling. Beyond the digital realm, we also led students into the tactile world of sculpture. Under the direction of professional artists, they transformed a blank sheet of paper into a tangible piece of art, experiencing the full process from creative conception to finished work. This cross-media practice not only honed their hands-on skills but also allowed them to appreciate the perfect integration of traditional art and modern technology.

The camp culminated in a showcase of the students’ creations. Each piece was a testament to their creativity and technical abilities, reflecting their achievements over the three days. As they presented their work to their peers and mentors, the students were filled with a sense of pride. With the conclusion of the final presentations, our Vocational Skills Experience Camp came to a successful end. Students left with a sense of accomplishment, having not only acquired new skills but also deepened their understanding of digital art. They are now ready to set sail on their next adventure, equipped with the knowledge and inspiration to pursue their future careers.

Each participant received a certificate of completion, a recognition of their hard work and dedication over these few days. This camp was more than just a skills-learning experience; it was about cultivating a passion for creativity and innovation that will stay with them long after the camp has ended. Shanghai Siggraph Chapter is committed to empowering young talents through hands-on experiences and industry insights. Stay tuned for more events and opportunities to explore the intersection of technology and art. Together, let’s shape the future of digital creativity.
