On October 31, 2023, the International Alliance for Digital Game Education (IADGE) held its annual conference and the inauguration ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sub-Alliance in Luohu, Shenzhen. The event was hosted by IADGE, co-organized by the Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and other organizations, and undertaken by the Luohu Human Resources Bureau and Hanwang Youji.

The conference focused on the development of digital game education, explored international cooperation and exchange, and promoted the progress of digital game education in the Greater Bay Area. Representatives from government agencies, educational institutions, and the gaming industry gathered to discuss the formation of the alliance and ways of cooperation.

During the event, guests including Liang Yayun, head of the Employment Management and Promotion Division of the Luohu Human Resources Bureau, Dr. Liao Shile, Chairman of ACM SIGGRAPH Asia, and Mr. Li Yuanzhi, General Manager of Hanwang Youji, emphasized the importance of the alliance for the development of digital game education in the Greater Bay Area. Dr. Can Shaobin presided over the founding meeting, passed the alliance’s charter, and shared its work plan. Four representatives from the Greater Bay Area unveiled a plaque, signifying the official establishment of the alliance.

In the afternoon, a seminar was held around digital game education. Brand Director of Hanwang Youji Luo Ruifeng, Teacher Liu Xueqian from Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Technician College, and Mr. Wu Wei and Ms. Yu Ruonan from Virtuos Group shared their experiences and insights, exploring the integration of education and industry.

The conference provided an opportunity for the development of digital game education in the Greater Bay Area, promoted in-depth cooperation between educational institutions and the gaming industry, and pushed for innovative development. The upcoming establishment of the IADGE Yangtze River Delta Sub-Alliance is also highly anticipated, with IADGE continuing to drive the development of digital game education.
