SIGGRAPH 2023 participants enter the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center on August 7 to see this year’s Electronic Theater! Monday’s show was the first of two ticketed live shows at SIGGRAPH 2023. For those joining virtually, there is the option to watch the electronic Theatre from anywhere in the world for a superior animation experience.

Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater is an annual showcase of advances in computer graphics and interactive technology that celebrates the rise of CG as a storytelling medium for animation, visual effects, games, scientific visualization, and more.
Whatever your interests or hobbies, there’s something for you during SIGGRAPH 2023 Electronic Theater. From the beginning, you can feel the energy in the air as all eyes are fixed on the big screen for unique, breakthrough and inspiring animations.
To the moon or to Mars? The Electronic Theatre presented a visualization and rendering experience of planets and galaxies during the opening ceremony. Viewers can decide which planets and galaxies to explore by moving their arms in the air. This is tracked by the calibration of the motion. What an exciting exploration experience to kick off our fair!
Whether it’s a tiger listening to the radio, a break-dancing robot, legends from the Overwatch world, or the water simulation behind Avatar: The Way of Water, the electronic theater has it all.

The culmination of 22 short films provided participants with moments of laughter, joy, fear, cheer, and more, but Electronic Theater is about more than just appreciating groundbreaking animation, it’s about reflecting on and appreciating how far computer graphics has come in the last 50 years. SIGGRAPH 2023 shows a truly special moment.
